Meeting of passengers at the Sarajevo airport 2 hours before the flight. The flight to Amman is at 17:10 (stopover in Istanbul). Landing in Amman is scheduled at 02:20 local time. After customs controls, transfer to the hotel. Accommodation and overnight in Amman.
After breakfast travel north, starting from the Roman city of Jerash to the fortress of Ajloun and back to Amman:
Jerash: The rich history dates back to Roman times. Often referred to as the "Pompeii of the East" because of the remarkably well-preserved ruins. Visitors can explore the well-preserved Roman theatres, colonnaded streets and imposing temples, providing a fascinating insight into the past. UNESCO World Heritage.
Ayloun Fortress: It is located on a hill in the northern part of Jordan. A testament to medieval history and architectural craftsmanship. Built in the 12th century by the Ayyubids, it served as a strategic stronghold against Crusader attacks. Impressive stone walls, well-preserved towers and panoramic views make it a cultural Jordanian landmark.
Breakfast at the hotel, then we head south, starting from the church of Đorđe in Madaba, then to Mount Nebo, then to Karak Castle, and by the end of the day arriving in Petra.
Madaba: It is located south of Amman, known for its rich history of Christianity and mosaic art. The city is home to numerous churches decorated with intricate mosaics, and is often referred to as the "City of Mosaics". One of the prominent attractions is the "Madaba Map" in the Church of St. George, showing Jerusalem and parts of the Holy Land. Madaba shows religious tolerance, since it is inhabited by both Christians and Muslims.
Mount Nebo: An important religious site near Madaba, where visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the Dead Sea, the West Bank, Jericho, the Jordan River, and even Bethlehem and Jerusalem on clear days. There is a belief, in both Christianity and Islam, that Musa is buried somewhere on Mount Nebo, although the exact location is not specified.
Al-Karak Castle: A historic fortress located in the city of Al-Karak in Jordan, this imposing medieval complex dates back to the 12th century and played a significant role in the history of the region. With its impressive architecture and strategic hilltop location, Karak Castle symbolizes Jordan's rich heritage and provides visitors with an insight into its story. After breakfast at the hotel, a tour of the city of Petra follows.
Petra, known as the “City of Roses”, was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom, an ancient Arab civilization that flourished from the 4th century BC to the 2nd century AD. Its strategic location along the trade routes allowed it to flourish as a center of trade and commerce. Located in a desert canyon in the Ma'an province of Jordan, Petra is known for its high cliffs, narrow canyons and rock formations. One of the most prominent features of Petra is its extraordinary rock-hewn architecture. Many of its structures, including tombs, temples and buildings, are carved directly into the pink-red cliffs of the region. The most famous example is Treasury (Al-Khazneh), a magnificent rock-cut tomb. Petra was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 in recognition of its cultural and historical significance. It is also considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit Mala Petra, which is located near Petra, and we will reach it in about 15 minutes by car. Then we will continue our journey to Wadi Ruma.
Wadi Rum: Also known as the Valley of the Moon, Wadi Rum is a stunning desert wilderness located in southern Jordan. It is famous for its otherworldly landscape that includes dramatic sand mountains, narrow canyons, high cliffs and vast desert plains. As part of the visit to Wadi Rum, we will enjoy a 2-hour 4×4 tour. After visiting the city of Amman, we will head to the Arena camp where we will be accommodated. At the camp we will have dinner and a chance to relax after a day full of sightseeing.
After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we will continue our journey towards the Dead Sea. There we will have the opportunity to rest in a 5* Resort by the Dead Sea, where entrance fee, lunch and time for relaxation will be provided.
Dead Sea: The Dead Sea, located at Earth's lowest point on land, is a natural wonder known for its high salt content that allows people to float effortlessly in its waters. It is associated with biblical history and is believed to be the site of five biblical cities, including Sodom and Gomorrah. Visitors can enjoy the unique experience of floating in salt water and use mineral mud for skin care. We will have the opportunity to rest and relax at the Dead Sea Resort with lunch included. After enjoying the Resort by the Dead Sea, we will continue our journey towards Amman, where we will spend the night
After breakfast at the hotel, around noon we will leave the hotel and start visiting the city of Amman.
Amman City Tour: The Citadel: Our first destination will be the City Center where we will explore the Citadel. This historic site offers panoramic views of Amman and contains ancient ruins, including the Temple of Hercules and the Byzantine Church.
Roman Theatre: Afterwards, we will visit a well-preserved Roman theater dating back to the 2nd century and still used for cultural events. After visiting the city of Amman, we will head to the airport for departure. The arrival at the airports is planned around midnight, and the flight to Bosnia is at: 03:30, and the arrival in BiH is at 10:20 ( 18.05.2024. )
