Breakfast. Optional city tour. A rare blend of ancient and modern, Muscat is a beautiful city nestled in a maze of brown, wrinkled mountains. Cradled by the Arabian Sea, the city has seen dramatic development in the last two or three decades. However, Muscat prides itself on the fact that it has preserved its great culture and heritage. Our visit begins with a drive through the area of ministries, where you can see a series of modern buildings with touches of ancient, Islamic architecture. First we will visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum, which has a nice exhibition of Omani history and culture, which includes all the traditional values of the area. You will also have a photo stop at the magnificent Al Alam Palace (the official residence of Sultan Qaboos) surrounded by the twin Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali. Then continue to visit the folkloric Muttrah souk, with its narrow covered alleys where you can smell the exotic aromas of heaps of spices, coffee beans and ancient medicines, all enticing scents filling the air, then return to your hotel. Overnight stay.

Breakfast. Optional trip to Nizwa, Bahla & Jabreen. The forts and castles are Oman's most impressive cultural landmarks and along with their towers and city walls, were historically used as defensive lookouts for bastions. It is estimated that there are over 500 forts, castles and towers in Oman, and our visit today includes several that are striking in their architecture and style. The ancient capital of Oman, Nizwa, was the seat of learning and the birthplace of Islam in Oman. The 17th century Round Fort and the souq famous for its silver jewelry are Nizwa's main attractions, not to mention the popular and interesting livestock auction held every Friday. Built on a stone foundation, the huge tower was designed to withstand the vibrations of 24 cannons. Then we move on to Bahl, famous for its handmade pottery. Visit Bahla Fort. Then continue to Jabreen and take photos at Jabreen Castle, lunch at a local restaurant and return back to Muscat. Overnight stay.

Breakfast. Optional excursions. First visit to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque which has an outstanding architectural achievement. As a contemporary place of worship, it serves as a spiritual landmark for modern Oman, projecting the values and aspirations of the Omani people. As a building, it maintains a perfect balance between aesthetics, culture and deep-rooted Islamic tradition. Then we continue to WADI SHAB: the breathtaking view, spectacular entrance, natural pools and terraces dotted with plantations make this wadi one of the most beautiful places in Sultania. A 45-minute walk through a deep gorge is needed to reach a pool of emerald water: an ideal place for a well-deserved swim. We will stop at Fin beach, the next visit is the famous sinkhole, part of a collapsed mountain filled with sea water. Then return to the hotel in Muscat and overnight. Overnight stay.

Breakfast. We recommend an optional trip to Wadi Bani Khalid, a magical oasis in the desert. Wadi in Arabic it means valley, but in Oman that is what they call valleys with a river bed, which is mostly dry or with very little water. There is water only after the rains, which here are sudden, short and abundant. Regardless of the amount of water, the area around the trough is always green. Over the centuries, the Omanis have built falays that draw water from springs, before being absorbed by empty troughs. After swimming, we leave for the sandy desert. We continue the exciting drive in 4×4 vehicles. Lunch at the camp under the desert starry sky. Return to the hotel in Muscat.

Check out from the hotel. Departure to the airport two hours before the flight. Flight between Muscat and Istanbul on flight TK 775 at 02:15, arrival in Istanbul at 06:50. Flight on the route Istanbul - Sarajevo on the flight TK1021 at 2:45 p.m. Arrival is planned in Sarajevo at 2:40 p.m. (all times are local).
